Adenoz 6mg Injection contains the active constituent adenosine. It is used to bring back your heart to normal if you have a type of arrhythmia called paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PVST) or Wolff Parkinson Syndrome (WPW). It is also used during a test to find out what kind of arrhythmia you have. PVST is episodes of fast heart rate that start in part of the heart above the ventricles. In WPW, the fast heart rate occurs due to extra electrical pathway in the heart.
Talk to your doctor if you have very low blood pressure, severe breathing problems, low blood volume, or heart diseases before taking this medicine. Avoid taking drink and food containing xanthines such as tea, coffee, cola, and chocolate at least 12 hours before taking Adenoz 6mg Injection. Ask for a doctor’s advice if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding before taking this medicine.
Uses of Adenoz 6mg Injection:
- To treat arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) in Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PVST) and Wolff Parkinson Syndrome (WPW)
- As a diagnostic aid in cardiac stress test
How Adenoz 6mg Injection works:
Adenoz 6mg Injection works by slowing down electrical impulse between lower and upper chambers of the heart. This slows the uneven or fast heartbeat called arrhythmias.
Interactions with other drugs:
Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

How to use Adenoz 6mg Injection:
It will be given to you by your health care professional. Avoid taking tea, coffee, cola, and chocolate at least 12 hours before taking Adenoz 6mg Injection.

Pregnancy:
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to pregnant before taking Adenoz 6mg Injection. It will be given to you only if clearly needed.
Breastfeeding:
It is not recommended for breastfeeding patients. Tell your physician if you are breastfeeding before taking this medicine.
Others:
- Inform your physician if you have any allergic conditions or other diseases.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Common:
- Slow heartbeat
- Shortness of breath or urge to breathe deeply
- Reddening of skin with feeling of heat
- Pain or pressure on the chest
- Headache, dizziness, light-headedness
- Nausea
- Burning in skin, tingling
- Skipped heart beats, or extra heartbeats
