Aldopam 500mg injection is used in the following:

• Organophosphate poisoning
• Nerve agent exposure

• Chemical warfare preparedness

Aldopam 500mg injection works by binding to and removing the organophosphate from acetylcholinesterase, allowing the enzyme to resume its normal function. This helps reduce the overstimulation of nerves and muscles caused by excess acetylcholine, alleviating symptoms like muscle twitching, weakness, and respiratory distress. 

Inform the doctor about your medicines, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with Aldopam 500mg injection, reducing effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

• Keep away from moisture, heat, and light.
• It should not be frozen.
• Keep away from children and pets.

Serious

• Severe allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, rash, swelling of the face)
• Rapid or irregular heartbeat
• Seizures or convulsions
• Severe headache
• Confusion or disorientation
• Chest pain
• High blood pressure
• Difficulty in passing urine
• Unusual bleeding or bruising

Common

• Pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site (for IM administration)
• Nausea or vomiting
• Headache
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Muscle weakness or twitching
• Blurred vision
• Increased saliva production
• Anxiety or nervousness
• Sweating
• Mild skin irritation
