Bucelon 2mg Tablet consists of the active ingredient Busulfan. It is a potent anticancer medicine that belongs to the class of alkylating agents. It is used for treating certain types of blood cancers and blood related problems. It reduces the number of new blood cells your body produces. Report to your physician immediately if you experience side effects of fever, infection, weakness or unusual bleeding or bruising.
Uses of Bucelon 2mg Tablet:
Bucelon 2mg Tablet is indicated for the following conditions:
- Chronic myeloid leukemia (Increase in WBC)
- Polycythemia vera (Increase in RBC)
- Thrombocythemia (Disease affecting the platelets)
- Myelofibrosis (a condition where bone marrow is replaced by scar tissue)
- Pre-Haemopoietic progenitor cell transplant treatment
How Bucelon 2mg Tablet Works:
Bucelon 2mg Tablet works by suppressing all blood elements and stem cells and this effect lasts for a few months or years. It produces cross linking of DNA and damages the chromosome, preventing the further division of cancer cells and stops its multiplication.
Interaction with other drugs:
Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

How to use Bucelon 2mg Tablet:
Swallow Bucelon 2mg Tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablets.
Safety Advice:
Pregnancy:
Bucelon 2mg Tablet can be harmful to the fetus. Hence it is not intended for use during pregnancy. In case you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant, consult your physician for advice.
Breastfeeding:
Consult your physician before you take Bucelon 2mg tablet if you are a breastfeeding mother.
Liver:
Inform your physician if you have undergone prior radiation therapy or three cycles of chemotherapy, or a prior progenitor cell transplant.
Kidney:
Inform your physician before Bucelon 2mg Tablet therapy if you have a kidney disorder
Driving:
Avoid driving or operating machines if you experience dizziness.
Allergies:
Bucelon 2mg Tablet is not indicated for patients with hypersensitivity.
Others:
Inform your physician before taking Bucelon 2mg Tablet if you:
- Are undergoing or have undergone radiotherapy.
- Have been told that you have thalassemia.
- Have ever had gout.
- Have a lung problem.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Fever or infection
- Unusual bleeding or bruising
- Weakness
Common:
- Decreased levels of blood cells and platelets
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and mouth ulcers
- Yellow eyes or skin indicating jaundice and liver damage
- Early menopause and absence of periods in women
- Delayed puberty in girls
- Reduced size of testicles and irregular sperm production in men
- Irregular heartbeat
- Asymptomatic inflammation of lungs
- Hair loss
- Dark patches on the skin
- Blood in urine
