Introduction to Caboprost 250mcg Injection
Caboprost 250mcg contains an active component called carboprost tromethamine. This medicine belongs to a group of prostaglandins. It is used to treat postpartum (after giving birth) bleeding caused by atony of the uterus (soft and weak uterus after childbirth) in women. It is not a self-administered medicine; your doctor will decide the dosage of the drug based on your health history under proper monitoring of your health condition.
Consult your doctor if you are allergic to carboprost tromethamine or any ingredients, and inform your doctor if you have acute pelvic inflammatory disease. Consult your doctor if you are planning to get pregnant or think you may be pregnant or while breastfeeding because it is contraindicated for pregnant women. The safety and effectiveness of children and the elderly are not established. They are also contraindicated for patients with heart, liver, lung, and kidney problems, diabetes, jaundice, anemia, problems in blood pressure, and epilepsy. Carboprost 250mcg injection makes the uterus contract (womb). It's used to start labor or help the placenta come out. Prostaglandins are natural body chemicals that make muscles in the uterus squeeze. This medicine plays the role of prostaglandin.
