Cilacar M 10 mg/50mg tablets contain an active component as Cilnidipine and metoprolol. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) that blocks calcium channels in blood vessels and the heart. It helps in lowering blood pressure. Metoprolol belongs to a class of medications known as beta-blockers. It decreases heart rate and reduces the force of contraction. This medication helps control high blood pressure and prevent angina, heart attack, and stroke. Using two medications with complementary mechanisms of action allows for lower doses of each drug, which may lead to a reduced risk of side effects commonly associated with higher doses of a single drug.
