Cpressin P 20IU Injection contains the active constituent vasopressin (antidiuretic hormone). It helps the body prevent excessive loss of water in the urine and narrows some of the blood vessels in the body. Cpressin P 20IU Injection is used to treat diabetes insipidus (a rare form of diabetes in which excessive quantities of urine are produced in the body), and bleeding from the enlarged veins present in the food pipe. It is used in patients with vasodilatory shock (medical emergency caused by cardiovascular failure) to increase blood pressure.
Inform your doctor if you suffer from asthma, migraine, seizures, heart or kidney diseases. You may experience a reoccurrence of diabetes insipidus after stoppage of treatment with Cpressin P 20IU Injection; in such cases, you will be administered this medicine or other drugs to correct the fluid and electrolyte shifts. It is not recommended in children below 18 years.

How Cpressin P 20IU Injection works:
Cpressin P 20IU Injection works by binding to v1 and v2 receptors located in the body and causes vasoconstriction and antidiuresis.

Safety advice:
Pregnancy:
There are no established adverse effects of Cpressin P 20IU Injection in pregnant women. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking this medicine. It will be given to you only if it is really needed.
Breastfeeding:
Inform the physician before taking this medicine if you are breastfeeding. It will be given to you only if necessary.
Kidney:
Inform your physician if you have any kidney diseases.
Driving:
This medicine may cause dizziness, consult your doctor before driving and handling heavy machinery while taking this medication.
Others:
- Inform your doctor if you have any allergic conditions or diseases.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Sudden signs of allergy (rash, itching, swelling of lips, tongue, wheezing, difficulty breathing) could lead to heart attack if not treated straight way.
- Water intoxication (drowsiness, headaches, being uninterested)
Common:
- Abnormal heart rhythms
- Low sodium content in blood
- Low blood supply in heart, skin
