Introduction to Favikast 400mg Tablet

Favikast 400mg tablet is an Antiviral drug with an active ingredient called Favipiravir. It belongs to the medication class known as Pyrazinecarboxamide derivative.  It is used to treat influenza and other viral infections, including Covid-19. It is not recommended for those younger than 18 years. 

Do not consume this medicine if allergic to Favipiravir and its other ingredients. Inform your physician if you have liver disease or kidney condition. Inform your physician if you have abnormalities in uric acid metabolism (gout, hyperuricemia, etc). Inform your physician if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding. In men, this medicine can pass into semen, so use effective contraception during and after seven days of the last dose. Discuss with your doctor for more fertility concerns. Before starting with Favikast 400mg, notify your doctor if you consume any other medicine.

Therapeutic Effects of Favikast 400mg Tablet

Favikast 400mg tablet metabolizes to ribosyl triphosphate and converts into its active form called Favipiravir-RTP, and it works by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme  (RNA polymerase) that is necessary for viral replication. It works by stopping the replication of the infection-causing virus in the body.

Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products you take or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications may interact with Favikast 400mg and can cause undesirable side effects.
