Lastet 50mg Capsule is a chemotherapy medication containing the active constituent etoposide. It is used to treat certain types of cancers such as testicular cancer, small-cell lung cancer, acute myeloid leukemia (blood cancer), tumour in the lymphatic system (Hodgkin’s lymphoma, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma), and ovarian cancer.
Talk to your doctor if you have had radiotherapy or chemotherapy recently, any infections, low levels of a protein called albumin in your blood, kidney diseases, or liver disorders before taking this chemotherapy medication. Lastet 50mg Capsule should not be taken if you have recently been vaccinated with yellow fever vaccine and live vaccines and if you are a breastfeeding woman.
Use effective birth control during the treatment and for at least 6 months after the last dose. Administration of Lastet 50mg Capsule may cause a reduction in the level of blood cells and increase the risk of developing infections.

- Acute myeloid leukemia
- Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
- Ovarian cancer
How Lastet 50mg Capsule works:
Lastet 50mg Capsule inhibits the enzyme DNA topoisomerase II, thereby inhibiting DNA synthesis. This slows the growth of cancer cells.
Interactions with other drugs:
Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.
More information:
- Keep Lastet 50mg Capsule out of sight and reach of children.
- Do not store above 25°C. Do not leave your capsules near a radiator, on a window sill or in the bathroom. This medicine should not be stored in a refrigerator.

How to use Lastet 50mg Capsule:
Always take Lastet 50mg Capsule exactly your doctor has told you. The capsules must be taken with a glass of water on an empty stomach. Do not chew or crush the capsules.

Pregnancy:
Lastet 50mg Capsule must not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor instructed you to take it. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking this medicine.
Breastfeeding:
You must not breastfeed while you are being treated with Lastet 50mg Capsule. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking this medication.
Liver:
You need to tell your doctor if you have any liver disorders before taking Lastet 50mg Capsule. Your doctor may perform blood tests regularly to monitor your condition.
Kidney:
You need to tell your doctor if you have any kidney disorders before taking Lastet 50mg Capsule. Your doctor may perform blood tests regularly to monitor your condition.
Driving:
Avoid driving if you feel tired or dizzy while taking Lastet 50mg Capsule.
Others:
- Inform your doctor if you have been vaccinated recently with a live vaccine.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Severe allergic reactions (swelling of tongue, or throat, breathing difficulties, rash, flushing, fast heartbeat, breathing difficulties)

- Nausea, vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Abdominal pain
- Constipation, diarrhea
- Blood disorders
- Abnormal liver function
- Changes in skin color
- Weakness
- Hair loss
- High or low blood pressure
- Infection
