Ledifos Tablet consists of the active substances Ledipasvir and Sofosbuvir. It is indicated for chronic Hepatitis C infection in adults and children above 3 years of age.
Hepatitis C infection is triggered by a virus named Flavivirus. Most of the patients remain asymptomatic and the symptoms show up only when they develop chronic liver disease or cirrhosis. The progression of liver disease is faster in people who consume alcohol and those with a weak immune system. The main treatment goal for Hepatitis C infection is complete eradication of the virus causing this infection.

How Ledifos Tablet works:
The NS5A protein is responsible for the gathering and replication of the hepatitis C virus. Ledifos Tablet work by inhibiting NS5A protein and other proteins and stops the growth and reproduction of the virus. Thus the infection is eliminated from the body.
Interaction with other drugs:
Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

How to use Ledifos Tablet:
Swallow the tablet with or without food. Inform your physician if you have difficulty swallowing.
Safety Advice:
Pregnancy:
Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant. Contact your physician immediately if you become pregnant during this treatment.
Breastfeeding:
Consult your physician for advice before taking this medicine if you are breastfeeding your child.
Liver:
Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you have liver problems apart from hepatitis C. Your physician will monitor your liver functions and prescribe accordingly.
Kidney:
Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you have kidney problems or undergoing dialysis treatment. Your physician will monitor your kidney functions and prescribe accordingly.
Driving:
Avoid driving or using machinery if you experience tiredness.
Allergies:
Inform your physician if you experience allergic reactions to Ledipasvir, Sofosbuvir or other ingredients.
Others:
- Inform your physician if you are HIV infected and undergoing treatment for the same.
- Your physician will monitor your blood sugar levels at regular intervals if you have diabetes.
- This medicine is not suitable for children below 3 years of age.
- Consult your physician and follow a reliable contraception method if you or your partner is of reproductive age.
- Inform your physician before taking this medicine if you have been diagnosed with lactose intolerance.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
