Mebax 135mg Capsule

Introduction:

Mebax 135mg Capsule is a combination medication containing Chlordiazepoxide and Mebeverine. It is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The main symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome are spasm, stomach pain, feeling bloated, diarrhea, and pellet-like or ribbon-like stools. This medicine relieves the symptoms and excessive anxiety associated with IBS. It is not advisable for children and adolescents under the age of 18. 

Talk to your doctor if you have a history of drug or alcohol abuse, mental illness, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness disorder), severe liver disorders, breathing problems, kidney disorders, or recently suffered a loss of loved ones before taking this medication. Do not drink alcohol while taking Mebax 135mg Capsule, as you may feel drowsy.

How Mebax 135mg Capsule works:

Chlordiazepoxide increases the concentration of inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA and chloride ions. This reduces the excitation of the neurons, produces muscle relaxation and sedation. Mebeverine is an antispasmodic which relaxes the muscles by inhibiting gastrointestinal propulsive motility and gastric acid secretion.

Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

How to use Mebax 135mg Capsule:

Always take Mebax 135mg Capsule exactly as your physician has told you. Swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not crush or chew. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better.

Safety advice:

Pregnancy:

Mebax 135mg Capsule may cause harm to the unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking Mebax 135mg Capsule. It will be given to you if clearly needed.

Breastfeeding:

You should not take Mebax 135mg Capsule if you are breastfeeding. Ask your doctor for advice.

Liver:

Mebax 135mg Capsule is contraindicated in patients with severe liver disorders. Talk to your doctor if you have any liver disorders before taking this medicine.

Kidney:

You need to tell your doctor if you have any kidney disorders before taking Mebax 135mg Capsule. Your doctor may adjust your dose according to your kidney condition.

Driving: 

Mebax 135mg Capsule may affect your concentration or make you feel drowsy. Avoid driving if you are unwell.

Others:

• You should avoid drinking alcohol while taking Mebax 135mg Capsule, as you may feel drowsy.
• Tell your doctor if you any intolerance to sugars.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.

Serious:

• Severe allergic reactions (swelling of face, throat, difficulty breathing, pale skin)
• Jaundice (yellowing of skin and eyes)
• Bleeding problems

Common:

• Drowsiness
• Skin rash, itching
• Difficulty in controlling movements
• Slurred speech
• Lack of coordination
• Tiredness
• Dependence
