Introduction:
Palbace 75mg Capsule is a targeted therapy containing the active constituent palbociclib. It is used in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor 2 negative advanced or metastatic (has spread to other parts of the body) breast cancer. Cancer is a condition in which cells multiply in an uncontrolled and abnormal manner. It is given in combination with certain other anticancer medications.
Palbace 75mg Capsule is not recommended for adolescents and children under 18 years of age. Before taking this medicine, it is vital to inform your doctor if you have any signs of infections (fever, chills, or sore throat), liver disorders, kidney disorders, or intolerance to some sugars. Use effective birth control during the treatment and for at least three weeks after the last dose.
You must not eat grapefruits or drink grapefruit juice during the treatment with Palbace 75mg Capsule. Make sure you inform your physician of all the medicines, including supplements and herbal medicines, you are taking before you start treatment with this medication.
Preparations containing a herbal product St. John’s wort, should not be taken during the treatment with Palbace 75mg Capsule. Use effective birth control during the treatment and for at least fourteen weeks after the last dose if you are a man or for at least three weeks after the last dose if you are a woman. This medication may reduce fertility, so discuss with the physician if you have any concerns.
Uses of Palbace 75mg Capsule:
- Treats hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor 2 (HER2)-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer
How Palbace 75mg Capsule works:
Palbace 75mg Capsule blocks the proteins called cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6, which are vital for the division and growth of cells. By blocking these proteins, this medication slows the growth and spread of cancer cells.
Interactions with other drugs:
Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment. Concurrent use of Palbace 75 mg with CYP3A4 inhibitors such as fentanyl has reported in increased fentanyl toxicity.

- Keep Palbace 75mg Capsule out of sight and reach of children.

How to use Palbace 75mg Capsule:
Take Palbace 75mg Capsule in a dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Take this medication at same time each day with food. You must not eat grapefruits or drink grapefruit juice during the treatment with this medication.
Safety advice:
Pregnancy:
Do not use Palbace 75mg Capsule as it can harm the unborn baby. You need to tell your physician if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking this medicine.
Breastfeeding:
Do not breastfeed while taking Palbace 75mg Capsule. You need to tell your physician if you are breastfeeding before taking this medicine.
Liver:
You need to tell your physician if you have any liver disorders before taking Palbace 75mg Capsule, as this medication should be used with caution in liver disorder patients.
Kidney:
You need to tell your physician if you have any kidney disorders before taking Palbace 75mg Capsule, as this medication should be used with caution in kidney disorder patients.
Driving:
Palbace 75mg Capsule can cause tiredness. Avoid driving if you are unwell.
Others:
Talk to your physician if:
- You have signs of infections (fever, chills, or sore throat).
- You are intolerant to some sugars as this medication contains lactose.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Blood disorder (fever, chills, shortness of breath, weakness, bleeding, or bruising)
- Lung inflammation (chest pain, dry cough, or difficulty breathing)
Common:
- Tiredness
- Hair loss
- Dry skin, rash
- Infections
- Low blood cell counts
- Decreased of appetite
- Nausea, vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Swelling of lips and mouth
- Changes in taste
- Nose bleed
- Dry eye, blurred vision, increased tearing
