Praxbind 2.5gm Injection consists of the active substance Idarucizumab. It is indicated to reverse the anticoagulant effect of medicine called Dabigatran. Your physician will prescribe this medicine when there is an emergency need to inactivate the anticoagulant effect of Dabigatran.
The most frequently occurring side effect associated with anticoagulant use is bleeding, ranging from mild to severe complications. Your physician might administer you a second dose of Praxbind 2.5gm Injection if bleeding reoccurs.
Uses of Praxbind 2.5gm Injection:
The reversal of anticoagulant effects is needed in the following conditions:
- Emergency/urgent surgical procedures
- Life-threatening or uncontrolled bleeding
How Praxbind 2.5gm Injection works:
Idarucizumab is a human monoclonal antibody that has a very high affinity to Dabigatran. Its action is specific to Dabigatran and not much effective against other anticoagulants. It binds to Dabigatran and its metabolites and blocks its anticoagulant activity.
Interaction with other drugs:
Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

Store in a refrigerator (2°C-8°C). Do not freeze. Do not shake. Keep the product in the outer carton to protect it from light.

How to use Praxbind 2.5gm Injection:
This Injection is for hospital use only. Your physician will inject this medicine into your vein. Your physician will decide the timing and dose of this medicine depending on your condition.
Safety Advice:
Pregnancy:
Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant.
Breastfeeding:
Consult your physician for advice before taking this medicine if you are breastfeeding your child.
Liver:
Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you have liver diseases.
Kidney:
Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you have kidney diseases.
Driving:
Avoid driving or using machinery if you experience side effects.
Allergies:
Inform your physician if you experience allergic reactions to Idarucizumab or its ingredients. Your physician might suggest you to discontinue this treatment.
Others:
- Your physician will resume anticoagulant therapy if you are at the risk of thromboembolism.
- Your physician will assess your bleeding and clotting parameters before starting this therapy.
- Inform your physician before taking this medicine if you are diagnosed with a genetic disease called hereditary fructose intolerance.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Common:
- Headache
- Constipation
- Fever
- Low potassium levels in blood
- Pneumonia
