Renosave Tablet is used to prevent the risk of contrast induced acute kidney injury and management of diabetic nephropathy. Diabetic nephropathy is crucial factor leading to end-stage kidney disease. It is a result of various factors such as poor glycaemic control, prolonged diabetes, hypertension, family history and other complications.
Acute kidney injury is a condition where there is a sudden and reversible loss of kidney function that develops over days or weeks and is usually characterised by low urine volume. This medicine protects the kidney from injury caused by contrast media, ischaemia and toxins. It also detoxes the body from the effects of over dosage of paracetamol.
Uses of Renosave Tablet:
- Prophylaxis for patients with acute or chronic kidney dysfunction, diabetes, hypertension, heart failure etc., who are at high risk of acquiring contrast induced acute kidney injury.
- Management of diabetic nephropathy
- Antidote for paracetamol poisoning
- Reduction of oxidative stress in patients undergoing dialysis.
- Improvement of residual kidney function in chronic haemodialysis patient
How Renosave Tablet works:
This medicine is a combination of Acetylcysteine 150mg and Taurine 500mg. It works by promoting dilation of blood vessels, attenuating albumin/creatinine ratio in urine and serum transforming growth factor b1 in diabetes which helps in the management of kidney injury.
Interaction with other drugs:
Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

How to use Renosave Tablet:
Use as directed by the physician.
Safety Advice:
Pregnancy:
Inform your physician before taking Renosave Tablet if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant. Your physician will determine the suitability and safe use of this medicine.
Breastfeeding:
Breastfeeding during this treatment may not be safe. Your physician might suggest you to stop breastfeeding for some time depending on your condition.
Liver:
Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you have liver diseases. Your physician will monitor your liver functions regularly.
Kidney:
Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you have kidney diseases. Your physician will monitor your kidney functions regularly.
Driving:
Avoid driving or using machinery if you experience side effects.
Allergies:
Inform your physician if you experience allergic reactions to Renosave Tablet or its ingredients.
Others:
- This medicine is not safe for use in patients suffering from asthma. Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you have ever had asthma attack.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Skin irritation and rashes
- Throat irritation
- Chest tightness
- Hives and wheezing
- Blood in cough
- Swelling and soreness inside the mouth
Common:
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
- Fever
- Runny nose
- Abdominal pain
- Pain at the site of injection
- Breathing difficulty
- Drowsiness
