Introduction to Rivazest 15mg Tablet
Rivazest 15mg tablet contains the active ingredient Rivaroxaban. It is an anticoagulant that belongs to the Xa inhibitors. It treats deep vein thrombosis (DVT, a blood clot present usually in the leg) and pulmonary embolism (PE, a blood clot in the lung) in adults. It also prevents DVT and PE from reoccurring after initial treatment in adults. It is also used to help prevent strokes or serious blood clots in adults who have atrial fibrillation (a condition in which the heart beats irregularly, increasing the chance of clots forming in the body and possibly causing strokes) that is not caused by heart valve disease.
Rivazest 15mg tablet is also indicated in children and adolescents below 18 years and with a body weight of 30kg or more to treat blood clots. It is also used to prevent the re-occurrence of blood clots in the veins or the blood vessels of the lungs, following initial treatment of at least 5 days with injectable medicines used to treat blood clots. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to rivaroxaban or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you are bleeding excessively. Do not take this medicine if you have a disease or condition in an organ that increases the risk of serious bleeding.
Do not take this medicine if you have liver disease, leading to an increased bleeding risk. Do not take Rivazest 15mg tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Inform your physician if you have liver diseases, heart problems, a family history of heart diseases, kidney problems, bleeding disorders, lung diseases, and high blood pressure. Tell your physician if you plan to get any surgeries, including dental procedures, during the treatment with this medicine.

- Treatment of blood clots in Deep vein thrombosis, Systemic embolism and Pulmonary embolism
Therapeutic Effects of Rivazest 15mg Tablet
Rivazest 15mg tablet selectively inhibits factor Xa without the need of a cofactor (eg, anti-thrombin III) for activity. It works by blocking a blood clotting factor (factor Xa) and thus reducing the tendency of the blood to form clots.
Interaction of Rivazest 15mg Tablet with other drugs
Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications interact with Rivazest 15mg tablet and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

How to consume Rivazest 15mg Tablet

Always take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Take the tablet at the same time with food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. If you have swallowing difficulty, conslt your doctor about other ways to take the tablet. If necessary, this tablet may be crushed and mixed with water.

Breast Feeding
Breastfeeding is not recommended in patients taking Rivazest 15mg tablet because the medicine passes into the breast milk in small amounts and may harm your baby. Do not breastfeed during the treatment.
Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Rivazest 15mg tablet. Inform your doctor about your drinking habits.
Liver
Rivazest 15mg tablet should be taken cautiously in patients with liver problems. Dose adjustments are necessary for severe liver failure. Inform your physician if you have any liver diseases before initiating the treatment.
Lungs
Rivazest 15mg tablet should be taken cautiously in patients with lung problems. Inform your physician if you have any lung diseases before initiating the treatment.
Driving
Rivazest 15mg tablet may cause dizziness and drowsiness. Driving or operating heavy machinery is unsafe if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Pregnancy
Do not take Rivazest 15mg tablet if you are pregnant because this may harm the unborn baby. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, suspecting, or planning to get pregnant during the treatment. Use effective contraception during the treatment.

Inform your physician immediately if you face any allergic reactions like swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat, difficulty swallowing, hives and breathing difficulties, and sudden drop in blood pressure after taking this medicine.
