Sandimmun 50mg Injection is an immunosuppressant medication containing the active constituent called cyclosporine. It helps prevent the rejection of transplanted organs, including stem cell and bone marrow transplantation. Following an organ transplant, our body’s immune system will try to reject the new organ. This medication controls the body’s immune response to accept the transplanted organ.
Before receiving Sandimmun 50mg Injection, talk to the physician if you have liver problems, kidney problems, gout, high blood potassium levels, infection, low magnesium levels, or if you need to have a vaccination. Limit exposure to the sun while taking this medication. Use sunscreen with high SPF (sun protection factor) and wear protective clothing when you go outside. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice and eating grapefruits while taking this medication.
Make sure you inform your physician of all the medicines, including supplements and herbal medicines, you are taking before you start treatment with this medication.

How to use Sandimmun 50mg Injection:
It will be given to you by your health care professional. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice and eating grapefruits while taking this medication.
Safety advice:
Pregnancy:
Generally, Sandimmun 50mg Injection is not recommended for pregnant women unless the physician thinks it is necessary. You need to inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking this medicine.
Breastfeeding:
Do not breastfeed during treatment with Sandimmun 50mg Injection. You need to tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking this medicine.
Liver:
It is essential to inform the health care provider if you have any liver disorders, as this medicine needs to be used with caution in liver disorder patients.
Kidney:
It is essential to inform the health care provider if you have any kidney disorders as this medicine needs to be used with caution in liver disorder patients.
Others:
- Inform your physician if you develop high blood pressure, infection, gout, high potassium blood levels, low magnesium levels, or if you need to get a vaccination.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Shortness of breath, flushing, changes in blood pressure and heartbeat, fluid in the lungs
