Tipanat 20mg Tablet is an anticancer medication containing the active constituents trifluridine and tipiracil. It is used to treat cancer in the colon, rectum, and stomach when cancer has spread to other parts of the body and when other treatments are not suitable. Cancer is a condition in which the cells multiply in an uncontrolled and abnormal manner.
Tipanat 20mg Tablet is not recommended for adolescents and children under the age of 18. Before taking this medication, you need to talk to your health care professional if you have kidney disease, liver disease, intolerance to sugars, allergic conditions, or other diseases. Use effective birth control during the treatment and for at least 6 months after the last dose.
Uses of Tipanat 20mg Tablet:
- Colorectal cancer
- Stomach cancer (including cancer of the junction between stomach and esophagus)
How Tipanat 20mg Tablet works:
Trifluridine interferes with the DNA synthesis of cancer cells and inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Tipiracil stops trifluridine from being broken down by the body and increases its exposure.

Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

How to use Tipanat 20mg Tablet:
Take Tipanat 20mg Tablet in a dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not crush or chew the tablets. Wash hands after handling this medication.

Pregnancy:
Tipanat 20mg Tablet should not be taken during pregnancy as it may harm the baby. You need to tell your physician if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking this medicine.
Breastfeeding:
Do not breastfeed while being treated with Tipanat 20mg Tablet. You need to tell your physician if you are breastfeeding before taking this medicine.
Liver:
You need to tell your physician if you have any liver disorders before taking Tipanat 20mg Tablet, as this medication should be used with caution in liver disorder patients.
Kidney:
You need to tell your physician if you have any kidney disorders before taking Tipanat 20mg Tablet, as this medication should be used with caution in kidney disorder patients.
Driving:
Tipanat 20mg Tablet can cause tiredness. Avoid driving if you are unwell.
Others:
- Talk to your physician if you have any allergic conditions or diseases before taking Tipanat 20mg Tablet.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Low white blood cell count (fever, chills)
- Anemia (short of breath, tiredness)
- Diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain
- Unusual bleeding or bruising
Common:
- Lack of appetite
- Nausea
- Hair loss
- Weight loss
- Changes in taste
- Constipation
- Swelling in hands or feet or mucous membranes
- Mouth pain
- Itchy dry skin
