Alpha Ketoanalogue is a nutritional supplement indicated to improve the nutritional status of patients with chronic kidney disease.
Uses of ALPHA KETOANALOGUE
Alpha Ketoanalogue has been developed to prevent and treat kidney damage in patients with chronic kidney disease with glomerular filtration rate less than 25 ml per minute. It corrects faulty protein metabolism due to low protein intake (less than 40g/day). It delays the disease progression and the onset of dialysis treatment by preserving the nutritional status.
How is ALPHA KETOANALOGUE administered?
Alpha ketoanalogue is available in the form of powder, granules and tablets. The dose and frequency vary according to body weight and glomerular filtration rate.
Side Effects of ALPHA KETOANALOGUE
Alpha Ketoanalogue is not associated with any serious side effects, however, hypercalcemia is the most common side effect. Your healthcare provider will regularly monitor your serum calcium levels to check for hypercalcemia and would suggest reducing the intake of calcium and vitamin D sources.
Warnings
During the Alpha Ketoanalogue treatment, your doctor may periodically monitor your serum calcium, serum phosphate and other kidney parameters to prevent serious complications. Report to your doctor if you have been diagnosed with hereditary phenylketonuria.
Precautions
There is no sufficient information about the impact of Alpha ketoanalogue in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Exercise caution before using Alpha ketoanalogue during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
