Ceftriaxone + tazobactam is approved for medical use to treat bacterial infections (respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, bone, and joint infections.

Ceftriaxone + tazobactam treats bacterial infections. It is used for treating lower respiratory tract infections and community, pneumonia, acute bacterial otitis media, skin infections, urinary tract infections, uncomplicated gonorrhea, pelvic inflammatory disease, bacterial septicemia, bone and joint infections, intra-abdominal infections, bacterial meningitis. It is also used in peri-operative prophylaxis to treat the infection associated with surgery.

Ceftriaxone + tazobactam is available as a 1.125gm injection. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.

The common side effects that are experienced while you are on the treatment with ceftriaxone + tazobactam are diarrhea, constipation, nausea, abnormalities in white blood cells, changes in liver functions, and rash. Consult your doctor immediately if you feel any allergic reaction (Sudden swelling of the face, throat, lips, or mouth).
