The U.S. FDA (food drug and administration) approved dalbavancin in may 23, 2014, is used to treat bacterial infection.
Uses of DALBAVANCIN
Dalbavancin is used to treat bacterial infections in adults and children who are three months old. It is also used to treat skin infections.
How is DALBAVANCIN administered?
Dalbavancin is available as an injection form. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.
Side Effects of DALBAVANCIN
The common side effects that are experienced while you are on the treatment with dalbavancin are headache, feeling sick (nausea), diarrhea.
Warnings
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to dalbavancin or any of the ingredients present in them. It will be helpful for him to treat you based on your previous medical condition or make some dose adjustments.
Precautions
Elderly patients with kidney disorders should be cautious while taking the medicine and inform their doctor before taking the medicine. Your doctor will recommend you monitor your liver and kidney to avoid undesirable side effects caused by the drug. It is recommended to drink plenty of water to compensate for the water or electrolyte loss during diarrhea (side effect).
