Lignocaine was approved by the U.S. FDA on 28 February 2018, and Adrenaline bitartrate was approved on 10 August 2012.

Lidocaine works by stopping the influx of sodium ions into the membrane surrounding the nerves, preventing impulse initiation and conduction. As a result, it has an anesthetic effect and lessens pain perception. Adrenaline works by tightening and restricting blood vessels, slowing their distribution. Thereby prolonging Lidocaine's effect.

In normal healthy adults, Lignocaine, Adrenaline Bitartrate injection should be administered below 500 mg, and it should not exceed 7 mg/kg (3.2 mg/lb) of body weight. Follow your doctor's instructions exactly. Your doctor only administers this injection. Do not self-administer.

Warnings

Contact your physician immediately if you experience severe allergic reactions to Lignocaine and Adrenaline Bitartrate or its ingredients. Report to your physician about your complete medical history, especially if you have high blood pressure or heart problems such as a slow heartbeat, hypovolaemia (decreased volume of blood), epilepsy, stroke, diabetes, thyroid problems, liver or kidney disease, inflammation at the site of injection, a rare blood pigment disorder (porphyria).

Precautions

Lignocaine, Adrenaline Bitartrate is not safe to be taken while pregnant, as it can cause harmful effects on the developing baby. The common side effects that are likely to occur while you are on the treatment with Lignocaine, Adrenaline Bitartrate are nausea, vomiting, dizziness, low and high blood pressure, slow heartbeat, blurred vision, shakiness, ringing or buzzing in the ears, numbness around the mouth, difficulty in speaking and pain at the site of injection. Inform your healthcare professional if these side effects disturb you or persist.

It is suggested to inform your healthcare provider if you have allergic reactions to Lignocaine+Adrenaline Bitartrate to avoid life-threatening complications. Tell your doctor before the treatment commencement if you are pregnant or have blood diseases like hypovolaemia (decreased blood volume), heart problems such as a slow heartbeat,
difficulty breathing, or stroke. Avoid eating or chewing within 1 hour after this injection is given to numb your mouth or throat. This is because you may accidentally bite the inside of your mouth if you are still numb.
