Methylergometrine is usually administered as an intramuscular injection, though it can also be given orally or intravenously, depending on the situation and the healthcare provider's judgment.

Common side effects of Methylergometrine include nausea, vomiting, headache, uterine cramps, and increased blood pressure. More serious side effects may include chest pain, seizures, severe headaches, and hypertensive crisis (dangerously high blood pressure). 

Methylergometrine can cause a sudden and severe increase in blood pressure, leading to hypertensive crisis. The medication's vasoconstrictive properties can impact the cardiovascular system, potentially causing chest pain, irregular heartbeats, and other heart-related issues. Individuals with hypertension or high blood pressure should use Methylergometrine cautiously due to its potential to increase blood pressure further. People with heart conditions, angina, or a history of heart problems should use this medication cautiously due to its impact on cardiovascular function. Its use may require caution or dose adjustment in individuals with severe liver or kidney impairment.

People with high blood pressure, heart issues, or past heart problems should be cautious because Methylergometrine can raise blood pressure and affect the heart.
