Introduction to Calpol 500mg Tablet
Calpol 500mg Tablet contains the active constituent Paracetamol. It belongs to the class of medications called analgesics and antipyretics. It is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever, including cold and flu symptoms. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Paracetamol or any other ingredients, and if you have an allergic reaction, include a rash and breathing problems. This tablet is not recommended for children under 10 years of age.Â
Inform your physician if you have liver disease and kidney problems. Notify your physician if you suffer from alcohol abuse. While taking Calpol 500mg Tablet, do not take any other medicines which contains paracetamol. Do not drink alcohol while taking these tablets. Do not take more than the recommended dose. Notify your physician immediately if you get swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips, or throat after taking this tablet

Therapeutic Effects of Calpol 500mg Tablet
Calpol 500mg Tablet reduces fever by inhibiting the formulation and release of hormone-like substances (prostaglandins) in the CNS and by inhibiting substances like endogenous pyrogens at the hypothalamic thermoregulator center. The analgesic activity of paracetamol is by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, particularly COX-3, in the CNS.
Interaction of Calpol 500mg Tablet with other drugs
Inform your healthcare provider about all your medicines, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional, and supplements and herbal products. Certain medications interact with Calpol 500mg Tablet and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.
