Fresubin HP powder is a low-electrolyte nutritional mix that is high in calories and protein [21.5 g per 100 gm]. It is intended for the nutritional supplementation of patients receiving continuous dialysis. It contains active compounds such as whey protein concentrate and skimmed milk powder as a protein source and contains about 27 vitamins and minerals to ensure vital body functioning. It also contains fructose oligosaccharides [FOS], which improve gut health. It is a lactose-free supplement, making it suitable for lactose-intolerance patients. Dialysis patients may find it difficult to eliminate electrolytes, especially potassium and phosphorus, so optimal or high levels of electrolytes make it difficult to eliminate. This supplement contains less phosphorus and potassium, making it the right nutritional supplement for patients undergoing dialysis.
It is not recommended for children below five years. Consult your healthcare before using this product if you have allergies or medical issues. No common side effect is seen with this medicine.
