Alcofix IV Injection is composed of Thiamine hydrochloride 250mg, Riboflavin 4mg, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride 50mg Injection 5ml (Part A) + Ascorbic acid 500mg, Nicotinamide 160mg, Anhydrous dextrose Injection 5ml (Part B). It is a nutritional and health supplement that provides nutrients that may otherwise not be utilized in sufficient quantities. It is indicated to treat dietary deficiencies in people who consume alcohol regularly.
Alcohol consumption is one of the most common causes of chronic liver disease and is also a risk factor for other liver diseases. Liver impairment is most likely to occur in continuous drinkers.
Uses of Alcofix IV Injection:
Alcofix IV Injection is indicated to treat the following:
- Alcoholic liver disease, chronic alcoholics
- Alcohol withdrawal
- Septic shock in patients with alcoholic disorders
How Alcofix IV Injection works:
Deficiency and malabsorption of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine), Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine), Folic acid is frequent among people who consume alcohol regularly. A high alcohol intake prevents thiamine from being properly utilized and lowers the concentration of pyridoxine and folic acid in the blood. This injection works by correcting the nutritional and vitamin deficiencies occurring due to alcohol consumption.
