Alfugress 10mg Tablet contains the active constituent alfuzosin. It is used to treat the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. This condition causes difficulty in passing urine, often in older men. In a few patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia, the prostate gland gets so big that it stops the flow of urine completely. This is called Acute Urinary Retention.
Alfugress 10mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with moderate or severe hepatic insufficiency and hypersensitivity. Talk to your doctor if you have kidney disorders, chest pain, heart problems, liver disorders, and low blood pressure before taking this medicine. It is not recommended for children and adolescents under the age of 18. If you have an eye surgery for cataract planned, inform your doctor that you are using this medicine. Taking this medicine can cause sudden drop in blood pressure, especially at the initial stages.

How Alfugress 10mg Tablet works:
Alfugress 10mg Tablet works by blocking postsynaptic alpha 1 adrenoreceptor that is located in the prostate, bladder base, bladder neck, prostatic capsule, and prostatic urethra. Inhibition of the receptors leads to the relaxation of smooth muscles and reduction in symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

How to use Alfugress 10mg Tablet:
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Swallow the tablet with plenty of water. The tablet is taken after the meal. Alfugress 10mg Tablet is given once daily. Avoid crushing, chewing, and damaging the tablet. In case of a missed dose, don’t double the amount. Take the next dose at a regular time.

Serious:
- Syncope
- Postural hypotension
- Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS)
Common:
- Feeling dizzy or faint.
- Headache
- Feeling sick (nausea)
- Stomach pain
- Weakness or tiredness
