Introduction to Aplet 60mg Tablet

Aplet 60mg tablet contains the active ingredient Prasugrel, an antiplatelet medication in the thienopyridine class.

Use Aplet 60mg tablet to reduce the risk of thrombotic cardiovascular events in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). It inhibits platelet activation and aggregation, preventing the formation of blood clots.

Before starting treatment with Aplet 60mg tablet, inform your doctor about any history of bleeding disorders, recent surgeries, or other medical conditions that may increase your risk of bleeding. Always disclose all medications you are taking to avoid possible interactions. Regularly monitor for any signs of bleeding, such as unusual bruising, prolonged bleeding, or blood in urine or stools, and report these to your healthcare provider immediately.

Uses of Aplet 60mg Tablet

Aplet 60mg tablet is used to treat the following:

  • Reduce thrombotic cardiovascular events, including stent thrombosis.
  • Manage patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
  • Treat unstable angina (UA).
  • Address non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).
  • Treat ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).

Therapeutic Effects of Aplet 60mg Tablet

Prasugrel acts as an inhibitor of platelet activation and aggregation by irreversibly binding its active metabolite to the P2Y12 class of ADP receptors on platelets.

Interaction of Aplet 60mg Tablet with other drugs

Before starting the Aplet 60mg tablet, talk to your doctor about all the medications you are taking. Certain drugs, such as other antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), can increase your risk of bleeding when used with Aplet 60mg tablet.

Always inform your healthcare provider about any supplements or over-the-counter medications to avoid potential interactions.

More Information about Aplet 60mg Tablet

  • Store Aplet 60mg tablet at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C.
  • Keep it out of sight and reach of children and pets.
  • Store it in the original container.
  • Protect it from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.

How to consume Aplet 60mg Tablet

Start treatment with Prasugrel by taking a single 60 mg oral loading dose, followed by a maintenance dose of 10 mg daily. Patients should also take aspirin daily at a dose of 75 mg to 325 mg. You can take Prasugrel with or without food.

For patients weighing less than 60 kg, the 10 mg daily maintenance dose may lead to increased exposure to the active metabolite and a higher risk of bleeding. Consider reducing the maintenance dose to 5 mg for these patients, but be aware that the effectiveness and safety of this 5 mg dose have not been prospectively evaluated.
