Introduction:
Bavencio 200mg Injection consists of the active ingredient Avelumab. It is an anticancer medication indicated to treat cancer in the skin, kidneys and urinary tract that has begun spreading to other parts of the body. This medicine is used alone or in combination with other chemotherapy treatments and when other cancer medicines have not worked.
Your physician will check your general health and body weight before and during this treatment. You may need to give blood samples for testing during this treatment.
Uses of Bavencio 200mg Injection:
Bavencio 200mg Injection is indicated to treat the following types of cancers:
- Merkel cell carcinoma (a rare type of skin cancer)
- Renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer)
- Urothelial carcinoma
How Bavencio 200mg Injection works:
Bavencio 200mg Injection works by binding to a specific target in the body called programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) proteins present on the tumour cells and interferes in the cell signalling, thus inhibiting the growth and spread of the tumour. This medicine enables the immune system to attack cancer cells.

Inform your physician regarding any medicines you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

How to use Bavencio 200mg Injection:
You will receive Bavencio 200mg Injection in a hospital or clinic under the supervision of an experienced healthcare practitioner.
Safety Advice:
Pregnancy:
This injection can cause harm to your unborn baby. If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or plan to have a baby, ask your physician for advice before taking this medicine.
Breastfeeding:
Your physician might suggest avoiding breastfeeding during this treatment. Tell your doctor if you are planning to breastfeed your baby.
Liver:
Before receiving this injection, discuss with your physician if you have hepatitis or other liver problems.
Kidney:
Discuss with your physician before receiving this injection if you have kidney problems.
Driving:
Do not drive or operate heavy machinery if you are not feeling well. This medicine tends to make you tired.
Others:
- Before receiving this injection, talk to your physician if you have diabetes, inflammation in your muscles, pancreas, heart, or intestine.
- Check with your physician before receiving this injection if you have autoimmune disorders, immune disorders or suppressed immune systems.
- This medicine is unsuitable for patients who are allergic to Avelumab or its ingredients.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medications cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Worsening cough
- Chest pain
- Diarrhea
- Severe abdominal pain
- Jaundice
- Low urine output or blood in urine
- Ankle swelling
- Loss of appetite
- Bleeding or blistering of skin
- Breathlessness or wheezing
Common:
- Low number of RBC, WBC and platelets in the blood
- Increased BP
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Dry mouth
- Muscle pain
- Skin rashes
- Numbness and tingling in the legs
- Tiredness
- Vomiting
