CUSTODIOL HTK SOLUTION

Introduction:

Custodiol HTK Solution consists of Organ Preserving Solution indicated to preserve the donor organs (heart, kidneys, pancreas, liver, etc.) along with veins and arteries before organ transplantation surgery. This solution cools down the surface areas of the donor organ by flushing them before transferring the organ from donor to recipient.

In patients with end-stage disease, organ transplantation is an effective therapy. Organ preservation, surgery, immunotherapy, and post-operative care are the most important factors determining organ transplantation success. Custodiol HTK Solution is not associated with significant side effects. However, your physician will constantly watch out for symptoms of overdose such as electrolyte imbalance, elevation of amino acids and histidine levels in the plasma.

• This solution is not intended for administration through arteries or veins.
