Introduction
Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Dapagliflozin + Metformin. It is an anti-diabetic drug. Dapagliflozin belongs to the group of medications called sodium-glucose co-transporter. Metformin belongs to the class of medications called biguanides. Dapaglyn used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients aged 18 years and older. This combination of medicines is taken by mouth (orally).
Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet is always taken in combination with diet and exercise. Your doctor may prescribe this medicine with other anti-diabetic medications when your blood sugar is high and uncontrolled. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Dapagliflozin, Metformin, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Do not take this tablet if you have ever had a diabetic coma, severely reduced kidney function, severe infection, or liver problems. Inform your doctor immediately if you have vomiting, stomach ache, muscle cramps, severe tiredness, difficulty in breathing, reduced body temperature, and heartbeat after taking this medicine.
Inform your physician if you get urinary tract infections because this medicine may cause UTI. This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Your doctor will check for kidney function at least once every year or more frequently while you are taking this medicine. The common side effects of this medicine are diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, urinary tract infections, and headache.

How Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet Works
Dapagliflozin reduces glucose reabsorption and lowers the renal threshold for glucose. It works by removing excess sugar from your body via your urine and lowering the sugar in your blood. Metformin primarily decreases hepatic glucose production and decreases intestinal absorption of glucose. It works mainly by inhibiting glucose production in the liver.
Interaction of Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet with other drugs
Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications interact with Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

How to take Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet
It is an orally available prescription drug. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet based on the blood sugar and other factors. Always take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Take the tablet at the same time with food. Do not break, chew, crush, or break the tablet. Swallow the whole tablet with water.

Breast Feeding
Breastfeeding is not recommended in patients taking Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet because the medicine passes into the breast milk in small amounts and may harm your baby. Do not breastfeed during the treatment.
Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet. Inform your doctor about your drinking habits.
Liver
Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet should be cautiously administered if you have liver problems. Dose adjustments are necessary for severe liver failure. Inform your physician if you have any liver diseases before initiating the treatment.
Lungs
It is unknown whether Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet is safe to be administered in patients with lung diseases. Inform your physician if you have any lung diseases before initiating the therapy.
Driving
Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet may cause dizziness and drowsiness. Driving or operating heavy machinery is unsafe if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react. Inform your physician if you face any of these symptoms.
Pregnancy
Do not take Dapaglyn MX 50mg Tablet if you are pregnant because this may harm the unborn baby. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, suspecting, or planning to get pregnant during the treatment. Use effective contraception during the treatment.
