Decmax 8mg injection contains the active ingredient Dexamethasone which is a corticosteroid. Corticosteroid medications are similar to the natural hormones produced by your adrenal glands that help to keep your body healthy. Boosting your body with additional corticosteroids like Decmax 8mg injection helps reduce inflammation caused by various illnesses. It is used to treat swelling (both internal and external) caused by immune disorders and other conditions like arthritis, asthma, cerebral edema, adrenal hormone insufficiency, anemia, colitis etc.
Please try not to come in contact with anyone who has had chicken pox or shingles, measles or other viral infections while taking this medicine as you may need specialist treatment if you get a viral infection while on steroids.
Uses of Decmax 8mg injection:
This medicine is used to treat a variety of conditions such as:
- Allergic reactions
- Joint and soft tissue diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis
- Brain tumour induced swelling
- Trauma or shock after accident, surgery or blood poisoning.
- Chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting
- Endocrine disorders like adrenal insufficiency, cancer induced hypercalcemia and thyroiditis.
- Skin diseases like psoriasis, pemphigus vulgaris, seborrheic dermatitis etc
- Respiratory disorders like aspiration pneumonitis
How Decmax 8mg injection works:
Decmax 8mg Injection has a rapid onset of action for a short duration which makes it suitable for treating acute disorders. It acts by reducing the inflammation caused due to disorders in various organs and modifies the immune response of the body.

Store the ampoules in the outer carton to protect from light and store below 25ËšC. Do not freeze. Keep the ampoules out of sight and reach of children. Discard the unused portions of opened ampoules.

This injection should be administered only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
Safety advice
Pregnancy:
Steroid medicines like Decmax 8mg injection are not safe to be used in pregnancy. Consult your doctor for advice
Breastfeeding:
Breastfeeding is not recommended when using this medication. Consult your doctor for advice
Driving:
Do not drive if you feel dizzy or drowsy after taking this medication. Consult your doctor for advice
Kidney:
Inform your doctor if you have any kidneys problems before starting this medication.
Liver:
Inform your doctor if you are suffering from any liver diseases before starting treatment with this medicine.
Others:
- Inform your physician if you or any of your family members have or ever had depression or manic depression.
- Report to your physician if you experience visual disturbances.
- Check with your physician if you have muscle disorders, heart disease, epilepsy, high BP, migraine, bone disorders, infections, eye disease, thyroid disorders or diabetes.
- Inform your physician right away if you have allergic reactions to Dexamethasone or its ingredients.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
