Introduction to Gcdex 8mg Tablet

Gcdex 8mg tablet contains the active constituent Dexamethasone. It is an anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the class of corticosteroids. It is used to relieve inflammation (swelling, heat, redness, and pain) in various diseases of multiple organs such as allergic diseases, skin disorders, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, blood disorders, nervous and renal diseases, eye conditions, and rheumatic disorders. It is also used to treat certain types of cancer. 

Gcdex 8mg tablet is a synthetic glucocorticoid. Corticosteroids are hormones found naturally in your body by your adrenal glands which help keep you healthy. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Gcdex 8mg tablet or other ingredients of this medicine and if you have fungal infections. Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, heart disease, respiratory disorders, diabetes, eye problems, seizures, infections, tuberculosis, or psychiatric illness before starting the treatment with this medicine. It should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset.

The most common side effects of Gcdex 8mg tablet are increased blood pressure, decreased body growth, abnormal vision, cataract, discomfort in the eye, depression, and pulmonary tuberculosis. This medication is not safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consult your doctor if you become pregnant during the treatment. This medicine can make it harder to fight infections. Tell your doctor if you have any signs of infections, such as fever, sore throat, or cough.

Interaction of Gcdex 8mg Tablet with other drugs

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vaccines, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with Gcdex 8mg tablet and reduce effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects. Inform your physician if you had the rotavirus vaccine before the treatment.

  • Store Gcdex 8mg tablet in the original package at room temperature ( Do not exceed 25°C)
  • Keep away from children and pets
