Introduction
Helidoff 25mg Tablet is an anticoagulant drug belonging to the thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist category, containing the active ingredient Eltrombopag. It treats low platelet counts caused by primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) or hepatitis C (HCV) infection, aligning with Helidoff 25mg Tablet uses in clinical practice. ITP is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system destroys platelets, which are crucial for clotting and protecting blood vessel walls. Low platelet levels can lead to severe bleeding and bruising. This tablet is also used in adults to treat low blood counts caused by severe aplastic anemia, a condition in which the bone marrow fails to produce enough new blood cells.
This medicine should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to the drug or its components. Allergic reactions can range from mild to severe and may include symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or difficulty breathing. Helidoff 25mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment or active liver disease. The drug can cause hepatotoxicity, as indicated by increased liver enzymes and bilirubin levels. Using this drug in individuals with severe liver disease can worsen liver function, so caution is advised. Your doctor may recommend regular eye tests to check for cataracts and bleeding in or around the retina.
If you stop taking this tablet, your blood platelet count is likely to become low again within several days. Your doctor will monitor your platelet count and adjust the dose to ensure it does not become too high, as a very high platelet count can increase the risk of blood clotting.
Do not take this tablet with dairy products or drinks, as the calcium in these items affects the absorption of the medicine. Use effective birth control during treatment, and if you become pregnant, inform your doctor. Helidoff 25mg Tablet is not advised for children under one year who have ITP, nor is it recommended for patients under 18 with low platelet counts caused by hepatitis C or severe aplastic anemia. Inform your healthcare provider about your medicines, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications include antacid medicines, statins, ciclosporin, methotrexate, topotecan, lopinavir, or ritonavir, and vitamin and mineral supplements may interact with Helidoff 25mg Tablet and reduce effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

How to Take Helidoff 25mg Tablet

Pregnancy

Breast Feeding

Lungs

Liver
