Iflurane 30ml Liquid for inhalation is a general anaesthetic consisting of the active ingredient Isoflurane. It causes temporary loss of sensation and consciousness so that surgeries could be carried out effectively. It is used to make you sleep before a surgical procedure and maintains anesthesia during the surgery.
The liquid form of the medicine changes into vapor and is administered in a special vaporizer. Once your anesthetist stops you from inhaling Isoflurane, you will wake up within few minutes. Inform your physician if you have problem in heart, head injury, low BP, brain tumour, muscle disease or lung disease.

How Iflurane 30ml Liquid for inhalation works:
Iflurane 30ml Liquid for inhalation works by inhibiting the movement of glutamate to its receptors and arrests sodium channels. It induces the relaxation of blood vessels and stimulates the receptors of the heart, ultimately reducing the blood pressure and increasing the heart rate.

Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

Iflurane 30ml Liquid for inhalation should be administered only under the supervision of a qualified anesthetist.
Safety Advice:
Pregnancy:
Iflurane 30ml Liquid for inhalation might increase blood loss after operations involving womb. Inform your physician before taking Iflurane 30ml Liquid for inhalation if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant.
Breastfeeding:
Iflurane 30ml Liquid for inhalation passes through breast milk. Consult your physician for advice before breastfeeding.
Liver:
Inform your physician before taking Iflurane 30ml Liquid for inhalation if you have liver problems.
Kidney:
Inform your physician before taking Iflurane 30ml Liquid for inhalation if you have kidney problems.
Driving:
Do not drive or operate machinery unless your physician approves of doing so.
Others:
- Inform your physician if you have previously inhaled anaesthetic, especially in the last three months.
- Inform your physician if you have problem in heart, head injury, low BP, brain tumour, muscle disease or lung disease.
- Inform your physician right away if you have allergic reactions to Isoflurane or its ingredients
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Allergic reactions
- High body temperature
- Low BP
Common:
- Shivering, nausea and vomiting
- Breathing difficulty
- Increased or irregular heartbeat
- Altered blood cell count
- Agitation, mood changes, mental impairment and convulsions
- Liver problems
