Introduction to Imatinate 100mg Capsule
Imatinate 100mg Capsule contains the active ingredient called Imatinib. It is an antineoplastic drug that belongs to the class of tyrosine kinase inhibitors. This capsule is used in treating adults and children with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML is a form of leukemia in which certain abnormal white blood cells start growing out of control) and Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph-positive ALL). It is also used to treat myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative diseases (abnormal growth of blood cells), Hypereosinophilic syndrome and chronic eosinophilic leukemia (blood disease), gastrointestinal stromal tumors (stomach and bowel cancer) and dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (cancer in the tissue beneath the skin).
Do not take Imatinate 100mg Capsule if you are allergic to Imatinib or any other ingredients of this medicine. Before initiating the treatment, inform your physician if you have kidney, heart, or liver problems, if you have thyroid problems, or if your thyroid gland has been removed. Notify your doctor if you ever had or have a hepatitis B infection because this medicine could cause the hepatitis B to become active again. Report any bruising, bleeding, fever, fatigue, and confusion symptoms when taking this medicine. Consult your doctor if you are planning to get pregnant or think you may be pregnant or while you are breastfeeding.

Therapeutic Effects of Imatinate 100mg Capsule
Imatinate 100mg Capsule is a protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitor that blocks a specific abnormal protein created by a chromosomal abnormality that signals cancer cells to multiply. It inhibits the multiplication and induces cell death in abnormal cancer cells.
Interaction of Imatinate 100mg Capsule with other drugs
Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with the effects of Imatinate 100mg Capsule and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects. Inform your physician, especially if you are using medicines that prevent the formation of blood clots.

It is recommended to drink a sufficient amount of water or electrolyte to compensate for the water loss during diarrhoea or vomiting. It is recommended to take enough rest for a fast recovery. It is advised to avoid eating junk and oily foods which worsen the adverse effect of the drug. Your doctor will advise you to do a blood test and weight check during the medication. Applying a small amount of honey in the mouth ulcer, it will help you to relieve the pain caused by the ulcer.
