This medication operates by interrupting ergosterol synthesis, a critical component in the fungal cell membrane, thereby stopping the fungal growth and replication. It serves as a front-line treatment for superficial and systemic fungal infections. 

Its wide-ranging antifungal activity targets yeasts and moulds responsible for various conditions, from skin infections to invasive diseases. Itrasys 100mg Capsule treats fungal infections in nails, skin, mucous membranes, and systemic infections under specific circumstances. Regular liver function monitoring is essential during treatment. The medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Itraconazole or its components. It should not be used during pregnancy and is not recommended during breastfeeding.

Itrasys 100mg Capsule treats the following:

• Superficial fungal infections (skin, nails, mucous membranes).
• Systemic fungal infections
• Onychomycosis (fungal nail infection)
• Vaginal candidiasis (yeast infection)
• Aspergillosis histoplasmosis
• Cryptococcosis
• Prophylaxis in immunocompromised patients
• Fungal pneumonia

Itrasys 100mg Capsule causes some side effects like all medications, although not everyone will experience them.  

Serious:

• Jaundice
• Dark urine
• Allergic reactions (hives or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat)

Common:

• Nausea.
• Vomiting
• Stomach pain
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Skin rash
• Muscle or joint pain
• Changes in taste sensation (dysgeusia)

Regular monitoring of liver function is crucial, particularly in individuals with pre-existing liver conditions or a history of liver disease, as the medication can cause liver toxicity. If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing or swelling, seek immediate medical attention.
