Introduction
Lormalzi 350mg injection contains the active constituent Donanemab, which belongs to the family of anti-amyloid monoclonal antibody medications. It works by targeting and clearing amyloid-beta plaques that build up in the brain. This injection is used for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, specifically for adults with early symptomatic disease, including mild cognitive impairment and mild dementia stage of Alzheimer's disease.
Do not consume this medicine if allergic to Donanemab or any of its ingredients, as this can cause serious hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis. Before starting treatment, your physician will recommend a baseline brain MRI, since this medicine can cause swelling or bleeding in the brain, known as ARIA, and patients with more than four cerebral microbleeds, cortical superficial siderosis, or a major vascular contribution to cognitive impairment may need to be excluded from treatment. Inform your doctor if you are on blood-thinning medicines, as this may increase certain risks during treatment. Testing for ApoE ε4 gene status before starting treatment is recommended to assess risk, since carriers with two copies of this gene have a higher incidence of ARIA. Notify your physician if you think you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Uses
Uses of Lormalzi 350mg Injection

Mild dementia stage of Alzheimer's disease
How Lormalzi 350mg Injection Works
Lormalzi 350mg Injection works by binding to and clearing aggregated amyloid-beta plaques in the brain, which are believed to contribute to the progression of Alzheimer's disease. By reducing plaque burden, this medicine is intended to slow the decline in memory and thinking abilities in people with early Alzheimer's disease.
Interaction of Lormalzi 350mg Injection with other drugs
Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products you take or have taken before treatment. In particular, tell your doctor if you take anticoagulant (blood-thinning) medicines, as this may need to be factored into your treatment plan.
Storage
Keep Lormalzi 350mg Injection out of sight and reach of children.
Store refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C. Do not freeze or shake.
Keep the vial in the outer carton to protect from light.
If refrigeration is not available, the medicine may be stored at room temperature (20°C to 25°C) for up to 3 days.
How to take Lormalzi 350mg Injection
Lormalzi 350mg injection is administered as an intravenous infusion into the vein, once every four weeks. If this injection is recommended for you, a healthcare professional will give it. Do not self-administer. Your dose may be modified based on the reduction of amyloid plaques seen on amyloid PET imaging, or if ARIA occurs. If an infusion is missed, resume treatment as soon as possible, usually every 4 weeks at the same dose.
