Introduction to Nevilast 40mg Tablet
Nevilast 40mg tablet contains the active ingredient Lamivudine + Nevirapine + Stavudine. It is a combination of three antiretroviral medicines. Lamivudine and Stavudine belong to the class of medications called nucleoside/nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors. Nevirapine belongs to the class of medication called non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors. It is used to treat HIV-1 infection.
Do not take Nevilast 40mg tablet if you are allergic to Lamivudine + Nevirapine + Stavudine, or any of the other ingredients or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Inform your physician if you have liver problems, hepatitis infection, kidney diseases, or undergoing dialysis. Notify your physician if you have any active skin conditions such as rash.

Therapeutic Effects of Nevilast 40mg Tablet
Nevilast 40mg tablet is a combination of three anti-retroviral medicines. Lamivudine and stavudine tablet works by inhibiting the reverse transcriptase enzyme of HIV, restricting the replication of the viral genome, and reducing the production of new infectious viral particles. It mainly interferes with reverse transcription and inhibits the spread of HIV. Nevirapine binds directly to reverse transcriptase (RT) and blocks RNA-dependent and DNA-dependent polymerase activities by causing disruption of the enzyme
Interaction of Nevilast 40mg Tablet with other drugs
Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications interact with Nevilast 40mg tablet and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

- Do not store above 25°C
- Protect the medicine from light and excessive moisture.
- Keep the medicine out of reach of children and pets
- If you forgot to take the tablet, take your next dose at the scheduled time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
How to consume Nevilast 40mg Tablet
It is an orally available prescription drug. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of Nevilast 40mg tablet based on the disease condition and other factors such as body weight and age. Always take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Take the tablet at the same time, with or without food. Do not break, chew, crush, or break the tablet. Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water.
Safety Advice for Nevilast 40mg Tablet
Breast Feeding
Breastfeeding is not recommended in patients taking Nevilast 40mg tablet because the medicine passes into the breast milk in small amounts and may harm your baby. Do not breastfeed during the treatment.
Alcohol
It is unsafe to drink alcohol while taking Nevilast 40mg tablet. It may reduce the drug's effectiveness and can cause toxic side effects.
Liver
Nevilast 40mg tablet should be cautiously administered in patients with liver diseases. Dose adjustments are necessary. However, inform your physician if you have any liver diseases before initating the therapy.
Lungs
It is unknown whether Nevilast 40mg tablet is safe to be administer in patients with lung diseases. Inform your physician if you have any lung diseases before initiating the therapy.
Driving
Limited studies are available on the effects of Nevilast 40mg tablet on driving and ability. Dizziness and seizures have been reported by the patients. Howevere, if you experience these, inform your physician and seek medical advice.
Pregnancy
Do not take Nevilast 40mg tablet if you are in your first trimester because this may harm the unborn baby. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, suspecting, or planning to get pregnant during the treatment.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.

Word of Advice
Follow your doctor’s instructions with respect to high-risk activities such as unprotected sex and personal items that can have blood or body fluids on them, like toothbrushes, razor blades, and needles. Always practice safe sex by using condom to lower the chance of sexual contact with semen, vaginal secretions, or blood. These medications do not cure HIV or AIDS and you can still transmit the virus to other during therapy with these medications.
