Introduction to Onbort 2mg Injection

Onbort 2mg Injection is a chemotherapeutic medication that belongs to the class of drugs called Proteasome inhibitors.  It contains the active compound Onbort 2mg Injection. It is used to treat multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma.  This medication is concomitantly used with other chemotherapy medicines like pegylated liposomal doxorubicin, rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, dexamethasone, prednisolone or thalidomide for patients who have not started treatment and are unsuccessful or ineligible for blood stem cell transplant treatment.

It is not recommended to take Onbort 2mg Injection if you are allergic to active compounds or any other ingredients of this medicine. Uses of Onbort 2mg Injection

The Onbort 2mg Injection is used in the following:

  • Treatment of multiple myeloma

  • Treatment of mantle cell lymphoma

Therapeutic Effects of Onbort 2mg Injection

Onbort 2mg Injection works by exerting a toxic effect on cancer cells. It inhibits the 26s proteasome and blocks a major cell-signalling pathway. This inhibition of the signalling pathway makes the cancer cells sensitive to chemotherapy. By inhibiting the proteasome, Onbort 2mg Injection disrupts the normal process of protein degradation within the cell. This leads to the accumulation of misfolded or damaged proteins, which are toxic to the cell. The accumulation of misfolded proteins triggers a series of cellular responses, including the activation of stress pathways and the induction of apoptosis. This medicine also enhances the build-up of a protein and minimises cancer cell growth and multiplication.

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products.
