Introduction to Pyrimethamine 25mg Tablet
Pyrimethamine 25mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Pyrimethamine. It is an antiparasitic drug that belongs to a group of medicines called antiprotozoals. It is used in combination with other antibiotics to treat blood infections caused by a parasite called toxoplasma. These infections can affect the brain and other parts of the body if your immune system is poor. This can be caused due to AIDS or HIV infection. It is also used to treat malarial infections.
Do not take Pyrimethamine 25mg Tablet if you are allergic to pyrimethamine or any of the other ingredients or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This tablet is not recommended in children under five years of age. Inform your physician if you have kidney or liver problems, anemia, and seizures. This medicine will always be given to you with a vitamin supplement. Do not forget to take your vitamin supplements.

Pyrimethamine 25mg Tablet binds to and reversibly inhibits the protozoal enzyme and selectively blocks its conversion, which is essential for DNA synthesis and cell proliferation.

 ÂPyrimethamine 25mg Tablet should be cautiously administered in patients with liver diseases. Dose adjustments are necessary. However, inform your physician if you have any liver diseases before initating the therapy.

Alcohol
 ÂIt is unsafe to drink alcohol while taking Pyrimethamine 25mg Tablet. It may reduce the effectiveness of the drug and can cause toxic side effects.
