Introduction to Recagon 100IU Injection
Recagon 100 IU contains the active compound follitropin beta. It belongs to the class of medications called gonadotropins (hormones that regulate the function of reproductive organs). It is indicated to treat infertility in women who are not ovulating (anovulation) and is also used in medically assisted reproduction programs such as in vitro fertilisation/embryo transfer (IVF/ET). It also helps males with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (lack of male sex hormones).
It is not recommended to take this medication if you are allergic to the active substance follitropin beta and its components. Women who are pregnant or experiencing heavy or irregular vaginal bleeding are recommended not to use this medication. You need to inform your physician if you have any thyroid disorders and liver disorders. Treatment with gonadotropins may raise the chance of developing thrombosis or blood clots. Before starting treatment, consult your doctor if you or your family has a history of thrombosis or if you are significantly overweight. Tell your physician about all the medications you are taking recently before starting treatment.

Therapeutic Effects of Recagon 100IU Injection
Recagon 100 IU contains recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). FSH is a hormone that plays a major role in the growth and development of follicles in the ovaries and the production of sex hormones. This medicine acts by stimulating ovarian follicle growth for women having trouble with ovulation. It boosts sperm production in men with hormonal issues.
Interaction of Recagon 100IU Injection with other drugs
Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products you take or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications may interact with Recagon 100 IU injection and cause undesirable side effects.

How to consume Recagon 100IU Injection
Treatment should be started under the guidance of a healthcare provider. It is given just beneath your skin (subcutaneously), either in the abdominal wall or the upper thigh, by your healthcare provider. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition.

Breast Feeding
It is unknown whether Recagon 100 IU is excreted in breast milk. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking this medication.
Alcohol
Alcohol use can affect reproduction by affecting the hormone system. Hence, it is not recommended to consume alcohol during this treatment. Consult your doctor for more advice.
Liver
The safety of Recagon 100 IU injection for individuals with liver problems is not well established. Inform your doctor of any liver disorders before receiving this injection.
Lungs
Patients with lung diseases should consult their healthcare providers before using Recagon 100 IU to ensure personalised decision-making based on their specific health conditions.
Driving
It has negligible influence on the ability to drive or use machines. Check with your doctor for more advice.
Pregnancy
Recagon 100 IU injection is a fertility medication that helps women to get pregnant. Hence, it must be stopped after getting pregnant. Tell your physician if you are pregnant or think you may get pregnant before taking this medication.
Side Effects of Recagon 100IU Injection
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious
- Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (ovaries enlarge and leak fluid into the body)
- Blood clots
- Ovarian torsion (twisting of ovaries )

- Headache
- Injection site reactions (bruising, pain, redness, swelling, and itching)
- Pelvic pain
- Stomach pain and bloating
- Acne and breast enlargement (in males)
Word of Advice
There is a possibility for a false-positive pregnancy test result (blood or urine) within ten days of taking Recagon 100 IU injection . Confirm your results with your physician. Make sure to consume foods high in protein as it promotes the overall reproductive health and the formation of eggs. Men, try to limit your intake of soy products as soy consumption may further suppress sperm production, especially in men who already have low sperm counts.
