Introduction

RPO 10000IU injection contains active components such as Recombinant human erythropoietin alfa/epoetin alfa. It is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs called erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs). This medication treats anemia caused by chronic kidney disease (CKD), cancer chemotherapy, or HIV infection treatment with zidovudine. It also reduces the need for red blood cell transfusions in patients at high risk for blood loss due to planned surgery or other procedures.

RPO 10000IU injection should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to it or any of its components, uncontrolled hypertension, active thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA), pure red cell aplasia (PRCA), uncontrolled seizures, pregnancy, or lactation. It should also be used cautiously in patients with a history of blood clots, heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, liver disease, thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, leukemia, or cancer. It should only be used in children under 18 if the benefits outweigh the risks. Older adults taking this medication should be closely monitored for side effects. Before starting this medication, it is important to talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of RPO 10000IU injection. RPO 10000 IU substitute includes other epoetin alfa 10000 IU injections available under different brand names. RPO 10000 IU Injection price varies by retailer and location. You can buy RPO 10000 IU Injection online.

Uses

RPO 10000 IU Injection uses in the following disease treatment:

  • Anemia due to Chronic kidney disease (CKD)

  • Anemia due to Cancer chemotherapy

  • Anemia due to HIV infection treatment with zidovudine

How RPO 10000 IU Injection Works

RPO 10000IU injection works by stimulating the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the body's tissues, so increasing the number of red blood cells can help to treat anemia.

Interaction of RPO 10000 IU Injection with other drugs

  1. Cyclosporine (Severe)
Cyclosporine levels may fluctuate when used with erythropoietin due to changes in red blood cell mass. Regular blood level monitoring is essential.

  2. ACE Inhibitors or ARBs (Severe)
Medicines like enalapril or losartan can increase the risk of pure red cell aplasia or reduced response to therapy. Doctors may adjust treatment based on hemoglobin levels.

  3. Blood Thinners such as Warfarin (Moderate)
Erythropoietin can alter clotting balance as hemoglobin rises, requiring closer monitoring of INR when used with anticoagulants.

  4. Iron Supplements (Moderate)
Iron therapy may enhance erythropoietin response, and dose adjustments might be needed to maintain safe hemoglobin levels. Regular iron studies help guide treatment.

  5. Cytotoxic Chemotherapy (Moderate)
Chemotherapy can blunt the response to erythropoietin, requiring dose modification and close monitoring of blood counts.

  6. Diuretics (Mild)
Water pills may slightly affect blood pressure control during erythropoietin therapy. Monitoring is advised, especially in hypertensive patients.

Storage Conditions

  • Should be stored at room temperature, between 2°C to 8°C

  • Keep away from moisture, heat, and light.

  • It should not be frozen.

  • Keep away from children and pets.
