Trustrop 0.5% Injection contains ropivacaine. It is used to numb the parts of the body to stop pain from happening or provide pain relief. It can be used during surgery, including caesarean section. It is also given after surgery or after an accident for pain relief. Talk to your physician if you have heart problems, severe liver disorders, kidney problems, or if you suffer from acute porphyria (a condition that affects the breakdown of constituents of red blood cells) before the administration of Trustrop 0.5% Injection. It is not suitable for children under the age of 12. The common side effects are low blood pressure and nausea. You need to talk to your physician if you are on a salt-controlled diet as this medicine contains sodium.

How Trustrop 0.5% Injection works:
Trustrop 0.5% Injection blocks the generation and conduction of nerve impulses which carry pain signals to the brain and produces loss of pain in localized areas.

Pregnancy:
You need to tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking Trustrop 0.5% Injection. It will be given if clearly needed.
Breastfeeding:
You need to tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking Trustrop 0.5% Injection. It will be given if clearly needed.
Liver:
You need to tell your doctor if you have any liver disorders before taking Trustrop 0.5% Injection. Your physician may need to modify the dose according to your liver condition.
Kidney:
You need to tell your doctor if you have any kidney disorders before taking Trustrop 0.5% Injection. Your physician may need to modify the dose according to your kidney condition.
Driving:
Do not drive or handle any tools or machines unless your doctor says you are ready to engage in such activities.
Others:
- Consult your physician if you have heart problems, acute porphyria or if you are on a salt-controlled diet before taking Trustrop 0.5% Injection.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Shortness of breath, wheezing, swelling of face, lips, tongue or other parts of the body, rash
Common:
- Low blood pressure (light-headedness or dizziness)
- Nausea, vomiting
- Headache
- Slow or fast heart rate
- High blood pressure
- Difficulty in passing urine
- Back pain
- Increased temperature
- Muscle stiffness
- Burning sensation
