U-Frag 5000IU injection contains an active component of Urokinase. This medication is used to break down and dissolve blood clots that have formed within blood vessels, helping to restore blood flow and prevent serious complications like pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), peripheral arterial thrombosis, acute ischemic stroke, central venous catheter thrombosis and myocardial infarction (heart attack). Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is the formation of blood clots in a deep vein, often in the legs. Pulmonary embolism (PE) is the blockage of a lung artery by a blood clot that travels from elsewhere in the body. Peripheral arterial thrombosis is the formation of blood clots in peripheral arteries, restricting blood flow to limbs. Acute ischemic stroke is the sudden loss of blood flow to the brain, leading to brain cell damage. Central venous catheter thrombosis formation of a blood clot around a catheter placed in a large vein. Myocardial infarction is damage to the heart muscle due to a blocked coronary artery.

Hypersensitivity reactions, including rash, swelling, difficulty breathing, or rapid heartbeat, can occur with this medication use. Patients require monitoring for allergic symptoms, and medical attention is sought if any signs of hypersensitivity appear. U-Frag 5000IU injection is contraindicated in individuals with active internal bleeding, bleeding disorders, recent brain/spinal/eye surgery, severe uncontrolled hypertension, intracranial neoplasm, bacterial endocarditis, or aneurysm/vascular malformation. These contraindications help ensure the safe use of this medication based on specific medical conditions and risks. U-Frag 5000IU injection may be recommended for use in children and the elderly in specific medical situations, but its use requires a thorough evaluation by healthcare professionals. 

U-Frag 5000IU injection is used to treat the following:

• Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

U-Frag 5000IU injection operates by converting plasminogen into plasmin, an enzyme responsible for breaking down fibrin, a protein essential for blood clot formation. By facilitating the dissolution of clots, this medication helps restore blood flow in conditions like thrombosis, embolism, and stroke.

Inform the doctor about your medicines, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with U-Frag 5000IU injection, reducing effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects. 

• Store at room temperature, between  20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F).
• Keep away from moisture, heat, and light.
• It should not be frozen.
• Keep away from children and pets.

U-Frag 5000IU injection is typically administered intravenously (IV) through a vein, allowing direct delivery into the bloodstream. This route ensures rapid distribution throughout the body, enabling its thrombolytic action to dissolve blood clots and restore blood flow in various medical conditions such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and acute ischemic stroke.

U-Frag 5000IU injection cause some side effects like all medications, although not everyone will experience them. 

Serious:

• Bleeding
• Allergic reactions
• Drop in blood pressure

Common:

• Bleeding or bruising
• Nausea or vomiting
• Fever
• Low blood pressure
• Flushing
• Chest pain
