Introduction to Ujvira 160mg Injection
Ujvira 160mg Injection is a targeted therapy containing the active constituent trastuzumab emtansine. It is used to treat adults with a type of breast cancer (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 positive breast cancer) that has spread to other parts of the body or has not improved after treatment with other medications. It is a combination of two drugs: trastuzumab, which is a monoclonal antibody that targets HER2-positive breast cancer cells, and emtansine, which is a chemotherapy drug that destroys cancer cells. This medicine is also given after surgery to kill any cancer cells left in the breast (adjuvant therapy). This medication is not recommended for adolescents and children under 18. Before taking this medicine, it is vital to inform your doctor if you have any blood clot disorders, liver disorders, or allergies.

Therapeutic Effects of Ujvira 160mg Injection
Trastuzumab binds selectively to the HER2 receptors on breast cancer cells' surface, blocks them from receiving growth signals, and stops the cancer cell's growth. DM1 becomes active once the drug enters the cancer cells and helps stop cancer cell growth.
Interaction of Ujvira 160mg Injection with other drugs
Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products you take or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications may interact with Ujvira 160mg Injection and cause undesirable side effects.

How to consume Ujvira 160mg Injection
- Ujvira 160mg Injection shall either be administered before or after surgery.
- It will be given as an Intravenous infusion for 90 minutes, if well tolerated it shall be administered within 30 minutes for the next doses.
Safety Advice for Ujvira 160mg Injection
Breast Feeding
Avoid breastfeeding your baby while on the treatment with Ujvira 160mg Injection atleast for at least seven months after the final dose.
Alcohol
Consult your doctor to know if it is safe to consume alcohol while you are on treatment with Ujvira 160mg Injection.
Liver
You need to tell your physician if you have any liver disorders before starting Ujvira 160mg Injection as it requires dosage adjustment for severe liver impairment.
Lungs
Talk to your doctor if you have any lung conditions before starting treatment with Ujvira 160mg Injection.
Driving
Ujvira 160mg Injection can cause unusual tiredness and dizziness. Hence, it is advised to avoid driving or handling machinery during the treatment.
Pregnancy
Discuss with your physician before taking this Ujvira 160mg Injection if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant. Do not take this medicine during the pregnancy unless advised by the doctor to take as it may cause to the unborn baby.
