Introduction to Valcivir 1000mg Tablet
Valcivir 1000mg tablet consists of Valacyclovir as its active constituent. It is an antiviral agent that works against Herpes simplex, Varicella zoster, and Cytomegalovirus. Herpes virus is associated with causing a cold sore that produces painful ulcers around the mouth. Shingles infection causes blisters over the skin. Cytomegalovirus infection causes flu-like symptoms along with skin rashes and swollen lymph glands.
Do not consume Valcivir 1000mg tablet if you are allergic to Acyclovir or Valacyclovir and its other ingredients. Before starting the treatment, inform your physician if you have a liver or kidney condition because dose adjustment is needed in such a condition. Notify your doctor if you are above the age of 65 years or with weakened immune system.
Do not continue taking Valcivir 1000mg tablet if you experience any rashes with fever, inflammation of lymph nodes, higher levels of liver enzymes, and eosinophilia (increased WBC count). While taking this tablet daily, it is advised to have safe sex to prevent the spread of genital herpes infection to your partner.

Therapeutic Effects of Valcivir 1000mg Tablet
Valcivir 1000mg tablet is a prodrug that gets converted into a substance called acyclovir. Acyclovir blocks an important enzyme that the virus needs for replication. By restricting the replication of the virus, Valcivir 1000mg tablet helps to control and reduce the symptoms of herpes, such as painful sores or blisters.
Interaction of Valcivir 1000mg Tablet with other drugs
Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products you take or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications may interact with Valcivir 1000mg tablet and can cause undesirable side effects.

Breast Feeding
Valcivir 1000mg tablet is not recommended for breastfeeding women unless the doctor suggests it. Do not consume this medicine without your doctor’s advice. Before starting the treatment, you should talk with your doctor about whether taking this medicine during breastfeeding is safe or unsafe.
Alcohol
It is unknown whether it is safe to consume alcohol while taking Valcivir 1000mg tablet . Please speak with your physician.
Liver
Inform your physician if you have liver problems because Valcivir 1000mg tablet should be used cautiously with a liver condition. However, consult your doctor for the dose adjustment.
Lungs
It is unknown whether Valcivir 1000mg tablet is safe for patients with lung problems. Inform your physician if you have any lung disease before starting the treatment. Contact your doctor if you experience any lung-related symptoms.

Consuming plenty of water or fluid throughout the day while on the treatment with tablets is advised to avoid side effects that affect the nervous system and kidneys. Discuss with your doctor if you have undergone organ transplantation before commencing the treatment with Valcivir 1000mg tablet. Avoid having sex if you have genital sores or blisters.
