Varilrix vaccine Uses to:

• Prevents chickenpox in adults and children.

Varilrix vaccine works by  weakening or inactivating the virus in the body, which tells the immune system to build defenses against it. This protection helps prevent infection or reduce the severity of the disease if you come into contact with the actual virus later on.

Taking Strone 100mg Injection (progesterone) with any of the following medicines can change the effect of either of them and may increase the risk of side effects.

Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, or Phenobarbital (Oral Route) Moderate
Use with caution.
These medicines may increase the breakdown of progesterone in the body and reduce its effectiveness.

Rifampicin (Oral Route) Moderate
Avoid using together unless advised by a doctor.
Rifampicin may lower progesterone levels and decrease its therapeutic benefit.

Ketoconazole or Itraconazole (Oral Route) Moderate
Use under medical supervision.
These medicines may increase progesterone levels in the blood and raise the risk of side effects.

Other hormonal therapies such as Oestrogen preparations (Oral/Injection Route) Moderate
Use only if prescribed.
Concomitant use may alter hormone balance and increase the risk of irregular bleeding or other hormonal side effects.

Anticoagulants such as Warfarin (Oral Route) Mild
Use with caution.
Progesterone may influence the response to anticoagulants, and monitoring of clotting parameters may be required.

Antidiabetic medicines such as Insulin or Metformin (Oral/Injection Route) Mild
Use carefully.
Progesterone may affect blood sugar control and dose adjustment of antidiabetic medicines may be necessary.

• Keep out of sight and reach of pets and children.

• Store and transport the vaccine in a refrigerator between 2°C to 8°C.

• Avoid freezing it and keep it away from light by storing it in the outer carton.

• Once reconstituted, use the vaccine immediately.

• Always check the expiry date before consuming it.

Varilrix injection 0.5ml will be administered to you by a healthcare professional in a hospital setting. Your doctor will decide the Varilrix vaccine dosage, route of administration, and frequency based on your disease condition and other factors. Do not self-administer. 

Varilrix vaccine side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.

Common

• Fever

• Redness, pain, sensitivity to touch, and swelling at the injection site

• Upper respiratory tract infection (nose, throat, airway)

• Irritability

• Rash, including varicella-like rash

• Itching at the injection site

• Varilrix injection 0.5 ml can be given to individuals who have no history of chickenpox but were exposed to someone with the infection.

• Vaccination within 3 days of exposure may prevent chickenpox or reduce its severity, resulting in fewer skin lesions and a shorter illness.

• Vaccination up to 5 days after exposure may still help reduce the severity of the disease.

• Do not receive immune globulins or other blood products at the same time as this vaccine.

• Inform your doctor about all existing medical conditions before vaccination, and report any serious side effects immediately.
