VILDATIN 50MG TABLET

Introduction:

Vildatin 50mg Tablet consists of the active substance Vildagliptin. It is preferred for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes mellitus. Type 2 Diabetes mellitus, also known as noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, occurs at a later stage, generally past middle age. It is caused by insulin resistance due to a low number of insulin receptors, and excess of hyperglycaemic hormones (Glucagon). Obesity, genetic and environmental factors play a huge role in contributing to insufficiency of β cells and insulin resistance.

Uses of Vildatin 50mg Tablet:

• Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes mellitus in adult patients who are unable to achieve glycaemic control with Metformin treatment alone
• As an adjunct with other anti-diabetic drugs such as sulfonylureas and insulin in patients whose diabetes is inadequately controlled.

How Vildatin 50mg Tablet Works:

Vildatin 50mg Tablet binds with the dipeptidyl peptidase enzyme causing its persistent inhibition. This leads to delayed gastric emptying, lower appetite and higher release of insulin. As a result, the blood glucose fluctuation after meals is controlled. 

Interaction with other drugs:

Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

More Information:

Store at a temperature between 15-30°C and keep out of children's sight and reach. Store Vildatin 50mg Tablet in the original package to protect from light and moisture. Do not use it if the packaging is damaged.

How to use Vildatin 50mg Tablet: 

Take the tablets as directed by the physician. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Don't crush, chew or break the tablets.

Safety Advice:

Pregnancy:

It is unknown if Vildatin 50mg Tablet harms the fetus. Talk to your physician if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant.

Breastfeeding: 

Breastfeeding is not recommended while on treatment with Vildatin 50mg Tablet. Consult your physician for advice before breastfeeding.

Liver: 

Vildatin 50mg Tablet is not recommended if you have liver disorders. Consult your physician for advice if you have liver problems. Ensure that your physician monitors your liver functions regularly.

Kidney:

Inform your physician before starting treatment with Vildatin 50mg Tablet if you have kidney problems. Ensure that your physician monitors your kidney functions regularly.

Driving:

Avoid driving or doing activities that require focus if you experience dizziness.

Others:

• Inform your physician before taking Vildatin 50mg Tablet if you have or ever had heart problems.
• Do not consume alcohol while on treatment with Vildatin 50mg Tablet.
• Inform your physician if you have hypersensitivity to Vildatin 50mg Tablet or its ingredients.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.

Serious:

• Difficulty in breathing and swallowing
• Rashes
• Chest tightness
• Swollen face, tongue or throat
• Pancreatitis

Common:

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Low blood glucose levels
• Trembling
