Introduction
Zosyn 4.5gm injection contains two active ingredients called Piperacillin and Tazobactam, which belong to the group of medicines called broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotics and beta-lactamase inhibitors. Piperacillin with Tazobactam is used to kill many types of harmful bacteria in the body. When Piperacillin is given together with Tazobactam, it works more effectively against certain resistant bacteria. This medicine is widely used for managing serious bacterial infections, and many patients also check the Zosyn 4.5gm Injection price in India when beginning treatment.
This injection is prescribed for bacterial infections in the lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, abdomen, skin, or blood in adults and adolescents. It may also be used as Zosyn Injection for pneumonia in hospital settings, depending on the doctor’s evaluation. Some patients who cannot tolerate this medicine may require a Zosyn 4.5gm substitute, which must be decided strictly by a healthcare professional.
Zosyn 4.5gm injection also treats bacterial infections in children aged 2–12 years, particularly abdominal infections like appendicitis, peritonitis, and gallbladder infections. Additionally, it is used in patients with low white blood cell counts or weaker immune systems. In certain severe infections, doctors may combine it with other antibiotics for stronger coverage. This medicine should not be used in children below 2 years due to insufficient safety and effectiveness data.
Do not use this injection if you are allergic to Piperacillin, Tazobactam, penicillins, cephalosporins, other beta-lactamase inhibitors, or any of its ingredients. Before taking the medicine, notify your doctor if you have low potassium levels, liver issues, kidney problems, or are undergoing hemodialysis, as monitoring and dose adjustments may be required. If you want to understand the correct Zosyn Injection dosage for adults, your doctor will decide it based on the infection type and your medical status.
Your doctor may conduct routine blood tests during treatment. If you are taking anticoagulants or experience unusual bleeding, inform your healthcare professional immediately. Notify your doctor if you have convulsions or suspect a worsening infection during therapy. Be alert for symptoms of haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis — fever, swollen glands, weakness, shortness of breath, bruising, or rash — and seek urgent medical help if these occur.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Many patients who require long-duration treatment prefer to buy Zosyn 4.5gm Injection online from trusted pharmacies.
