ZY-Q 300MG TABLET

Introduction:

ZY-Q 300mg Tablet consists of the active ingredient Hydroxychloroquine. It is used to treat autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and discoid & systemic lupus erythematosus. Autoimmune diseases occur when the body recognizes its own tissues and cells as foreign antigens and starts attacking them. 

This medication is used to prevent and treat uncomplicated malaria. Malaria is an infectious disease caused by the species of plasmodium parasite. ZY-Q 300mg Tablet is also used to treat and prevent graft vs host disease in patients who have recently undergone allogeneic stem cell transplantation. It can be used for skin problems that are sensitive to sunlight. 

Uses of ZY-Q 300mg Tablet:

ZY-Q 300mg Tablet is indicated to treat the following conditions:

• Treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis, Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (in children), &Discoid and systemic lupus erythematosus.
• Treat skin problems caused due to sensitivity to sunlight.
• Treatment & prevention of uncomplicated malaria.
• Prevention of graft vs host disease after stem cell transplantation.

How ZY-Q 300mg Tablet Works:

In autoimmune diseases, T and B cells of the immune system undergo activation that produces an immune response directed against the body's own antigens. Hydroxychloroquine decreases the activation of T-cells and suppresses the immune system. 

In malaria, hydroxychloroquine may get accumulated in the acid vesicles of the parasite and interfere with its ability to break down haemoglobin for energy needs.

Interactions with other drugs:

Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

How to use ZY-Q 300mg Tablet:

Swallow the tablet whole with a meal or with a glass of milk. Do not crush or chew the tablets.     

Safety Advice:

Pregnancy:

Inform your physician before taking ZY-Q 300mg Tablet if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant.

Breastfeeding:

ZY-Q 300mg Tablet passes through breast milk. Consult your physician for advice before breastfeeding.

Liver:

Inform your physician before taking ZY-Q 300mg Tablet if you have liver problems.

Kidney:

Inform your physician before taking ZY-Q 300mg Tablet if you have kidney problems.

Driving:

Avoid driving or doing things that require concentration if you experience any undesirable effects after taking this medicine.

Others:

• Inform your physician if you have serious problems in stomach, blood, heart or gut.
• Inform your physician if you have a genetic condition called G6PD deficiency or rare disease called porphyria.
• Ensure that your physician examines your blood electrolyte levels, heart rate, blood glucose levels and eyesight.
• Inform your physician right away if you have allergic reactions to Hydroxychloroquine or its ingredients.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.

• Allergic reactions
• Severe skin reactions
• Blistering or peeling of skin, indicating Stevens-Johnson syndrome

Common:

• Eye problems
• Stomach pain
• Sickness
• Diarrhea
• Loss of appetite
• Headache
• Mood changes
