Introduction to 2dg 2.34gm Sachet
2DG 2.34gm Sachet contains the active ingredient 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose. It is a glucose molecule in which the 2-hydroxyl group gets replaced by hydrogen. It is used to moderate to severe COVID-19. The drug is used as an adjunct therapy. The drug accumulates in virus-infected cells, and prevents the growth of the virus by stopping viral synthesis and energy production. Its selective accumulation in virally-infected cells makes this drug unique.
Do not take 2DG 2.34gm Sachet if you are allergic to 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose or any of the other ingredients. Inform your physician if you have liver problems or kidney diseases before initiating the treatment. Notify your doctor if you have been treated with any other drugs for COVID-19. This medicine is intended only for individuals aged 18 years and above. Your healthcare provider will evaluate your blood glucose levels during this treatment if you have diabetes. Potential side effects with this medicine are increased blood sugar levels, GI bleeding, and QTc prolongation.

2DG 2.34gm Sachet is a medicine that resembles glucose structurally and is used to kill the virus causing Covid-19. The virus utilizes glucose to produce energy, which it uses to make copies of itself. Once given, the medicine is readily absorbed by the ‘virus-infected cells’ as the virus takes it up just like glucose. On reaching the infected cells, the medicine stops energy production, inhibits further virus multiplication, and kills it. This helps in clearing the infection, even if it has spread to the lungs, and reduces the requirement for supplemental oxygen in moderate to severely infected Covid-19 patients.
